Lavender Trane,
She went insane,
And crashed into a window pane.
She said she'd eat an elephant,
Stuffed yummily with jelly, Flint,
How it would fill her belly, Flint,
Her destiny was lain.
And magically she ate it whole!
How she did it, oh Flint, I do not know!
But then we heard a glug and plop,
And next we heard a big fat pop!
And all we ever found was her top.
She must have been in pain.
So if you're ever starving,
Now you'll know,
Instead of an elephant...
Eat a rhino.

Hi! I read your mom's blog. I am looking forward to reading yours. Great first post. What a great poem.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun poem! Now I feel like eating a peanut butter & jelly sandwich - but I'll steer clear of ones made with elephants!
ReplyDeleteAudrie, we need to be friends! :) You are so very talented, my dear.
ReplyDeleteWow, Audrie!! What a great idea! Love the title, too. I'm so excited about seeing your creative efforts online, but I especially like it best when I get to see it in person.
